He studied at the Odborná škola
keramická, Bechyně, the UPS. He studied Academy of Arts,
Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) in Prague from 1933 to 1938, and
after graduation at the AVU, Akademie výtvarných umění, Praha under T.F. Šimon.
Granddaughter Lenka Kamenikova: "He was accepted
straight away into the second year of that course.
It would appear that my grandfather studied under
Professor Šimon for the academic year from 1938 to 1939. He was
enrolled for the following year starting September 1939 but couldn't
start because of the occupation and closure of the university by the
Germans. I have not been able to find out whether he was one of the
private students that Professor Šimon continued to teach in his
private studio following the closure of the university. I understand
that his only job was as an art teacher in a school in Karlovy Vary.
I understand that he had one or two exhibitions but I am not sure
where. My grandfather always spoke so fondly about T F Simon".
